Menu bar item 'Timetable...'


If a railML-file containing timetable data is opened, the menu item 'Timetable…' will be activated in the control window. By pressing the button 'Timetable…' the corresponding dialogue in the control window as well as the equivalent application window will open.

To display the timetable sub schema data of the railML file, the user has to conduct a selection via 'By train' or 'By operational point' .

Selection of trains in the timetable view

If the selection of the displayed data shall take place 'By train' select the corresponding button. A list with train numbers will appear. By entering the first character of the desired train number the list will be shortened respectively (case sensitive). Generally only one train can be selected. However trains, which have the same sequence of operational points will be displayed together with the selected train in the application window. As soon as a selection of the railML data 'By train' took place the buttons 'show (graphic) timetable' will become sensitive. By selecting one of these buttons the desired selection will be displayed in the application window.


Selection of operational points in the timetable view

If the selection of the displayed data shall take place 'By operational point' select the corresponding button. A list with operational points will appear. By entering the first character of the desired operational point the list will be shortened respectively (case sensitive). After the selection of an operational point the neighbouring operational points are suggested. The selection ends if no further neighbouring operational points are available. Generally at least two operational points must be selected to show the timetable view in the application window. As soon as a selection of the railML data 'By operational point' took place the buttons 'show (graphic) timetable' will become sensitive. By selecting one of these buttons the desired selection will be displayed in the application window.

Additive settings


Menu '+ Settings'


With the help of the additive settings of this configuration menu the visual depiction of the selected timetable can be adjusted in the application window 'Timetable...' . More detailed information about this topic can be found in the chapter 'Application window Timetable' .

By selecting the button '+ Settings' the user is able to configure the preselected timetable data according to the following points:




With the help of the button '+ Settings' the user has the possibility to configure and change the display of the timetables in the application window. When pressing the button '+ Settings' a menu opens that allows the user to select and integrate the desired configuration dialogue. If the integrated configuration dialogue shall be deactivated, click on the dustbin item on the right hand side.


Axis change

With the help of the configuration dialogue 'Axis change' the user is able to change the display of the axis in the graphic timetable and subsequently display it in the application window 'Timetable...' :


• Button        t ↓ activated                           Presentation of time on the vertical axis and presentation of the operational points on the horizontal axis
• Button        t → activated                           Presentation of time on the horizontal axis and presentation of the operational points on the vertical axis

Background colour


Configuration of the line colour in the graphic timetable

With the help of the configuration dialogue 'Background colour' the user is able to select the applied colours in the timetable and subsequently display it in the application window 'Timetable...' :


•        'Background colour'                           makes the adjustment of the background colour of the graphic timetable possible in the application window 'Timetable...'
•        'Grid line colour'                           makes the adjustment of the path-time grid colour of the graphic timetable in the application window possible


The desired colour can be chosen as a predefined colour with the help of a colour palette or by specification with 'Custom colour...' .


Birne.png Tip: Please adjust colours carefully. Texts and lines can "vanish" if they have the same colour as the background.

Register


Selection of the country specific operational point database

Particular company and country specific databases define clear abbreviations for operational points of a track. With the help of the configuration dialogue 'Register' the user is able to choose these abbreviations as long as they are contained in the railML-file and display them in the topographic / topologic view in the application window. E.g. every operational point of the German train network can be abbreviated with a specific abbreviation from the operational point database "Ril 100". All abbreviations are displayed at the bottom of the topographic / topologic view beside the train station name and kilometre display. If more than one abbreviation is available in the railML file for one operational point the abbreviation belonging to the selected database will be displayed. If no abbreviation, according to the database, is available in the railML file a second abbreviation will be shown.

Scaling


Adjustment of the scaling in the application window 'Timetable...'

With the help of the configuration dialogue 'Scaling' the user is able to scale the selected timetable in the application window 'Timetable' . This is done by two horizontal scroll bars:

• "Zoom in" by moving the controller in the direction of + (to the right).
• "Zoom out" by moving the controller in the direction of (to the left).

Scaling of time axis

•        x        is always the horizontal axis in the graphic timetable
•        y        is always the vertical axis in the graphic timetable

Train colour


Specification of train colours according to colour definitions of train category and number

With the help of the configuration dialogue 'Train colours' the user is able to define the colours of the displayed trains in the application window 'Timetable' :

The specification of the display of a track takes place with the help of a colour definition according to the following sections and the associated parameters:


•        Train category is used for the colour definition of train categories in a railML file
•        Train number      is used for the colour definition of a train number or parts of train numbers


Selection of a parameter according to the section 'Train category'

By selecting the button of the desired section a new configuration line will be added. With the help of this configuration line the desired parameter can be chosen out of a list with predefined values of the railML schema. The selection of the colour in which the affected timetables shall be displayed, takes place afterwards. The desired colour can be chosen as a predefined colour with the help of a colour palette or by specification with 'Custom colour...' .

This process can be reiterated until all parameters of a section are defined. If the user wants to deselected an already chosen configuration dialogue and with it its consideration, select the dustbin button.


Birne.png Tip: In the geographic timetable the most recently selected colour will be displayed even when other colour configurations are in use.

Train number


Possible settings for the display of the train number in the graphic timetable

With the help of the configuration dialogue 'Train number' the user is able to reduce or complement the path/time lines of trains of the graphic timetable in the application window 'Timetable...' by train number notifications. The following configurations are possible:


•        on permanent train number notification at path/time line
•        mouseover          Fading in of train number notification if mouse stays on the path/time line
•        off no train number notification at path/time line

Additive filter


Filter to select the display of trains in the application window 'Timetable…'

With the help of the button '+ Filter' the user has the possibility to select various filters and subsequently reduce the displayed content of the timetable in the application window. By pressing the button '+ Filter' a new configuration line opens, which allows the selection of the following filter categories:




Date


Filtering of displayed trains by 'Date'

With the help of the filter 'Date' the user has the possibility to insert a period of time or days, for which the timetable will be displayed in the application window 'Timetable...' . In order to set the filter the following areas have to be defined:


'Begin'      The entry of the start date, for which the restriction shall apply, takes place by selecting the date from the calendar or typing in directly in the format DD/MM/JJJJ.
'End'      The entry of the end date, for which the restriction shall apply, takes place by selecting the date from the calendar or typing in directly in the format DD/MM/JJJJ.

The implementation of all selections in the filter dialogue 'Date' takes place by pressing the button Show data . Afterwards the display in the application window 'Timetable...' will be displayed newly and the defined changes will be implemented.


Direction


Filtering of the displayed trains by 'Direction'

With the help of the filter 'Direction' the user has the possibility to insert the travel direction of the trains, for whom the timetable shall be displayed in the application window 'Timetable' . In order to set the filter the following areas have to be defined:


up      to display all trains driving in the same travel direction as the selected train
both      to display all trains with the same operational points as the selected train, independent from the travel direction
down      to display all trains driving in the opposite direction as the selected train

Number of stations


Filtering of the selected trains by 'Number of stations'

With the help of the filter 'Number of stations' the user has the possibility to display all trains that share a minimum number of operational points. In order to set the filter the following areas have to be defined:


•        1          to display all trains that share at least one operational points with the selected train
•        2          to display all trains that share at least two operational points with the selected train


The implementation of all changes in the configuration catalogue 'Number of stations' takes place immediately.


Weekdays


Filtering of the displayed trains by 'Weekday'

With the help of the filter 'Weekday' the user has the possibility to display certain weekdays, for whom the timetable shall be displayed in the application window 'Timetable' . In order to set the filter the following areas have to be defined:


•        M...          for Monday
•        T...          for Tuesday
•        W...          for Wednesday
•        T...          for Thursday
•        F...          for Friday
•        S...          for Saturday
•        S...          for Sunday


The implementation of all changes in the configuration catalogue 'Weekdays' takes place immediately.


Time


Filtering of displayed trains by 'Time'

With the help of the filter 'Time' the user has the possibility to display a period of any desired time length, for whom the timetable shall be displayed in the application window 'Timetable' . In order to set the filter the following areas have to be defined:


•        'Begin'      The entry of the start date, for which the restriction shall apply, takes place by selecting the hour and minute value in the corresponding drop-down menu.
•        'End'      The entry of the end date, for which the restriction shall apply, takes place by selecting the hour and minute value in the corresponding drop-down menu.
